Eventhough a free lance remake of the Bollywood hit Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander, this movie proved pawan’s acting capabilities and his skill in martial arts Director PA Arun Prasad’s laun ch pad, also introduced Preeti and Aditi to tollywood screen.
Subrahmanyam(pawan), who is fondly called as Subbu by everyone prefers to be called as Subash. A spoiled college brat, subbu hangs around with a bunch of friends of similar nature. Janaki(preeti), is his neighbour and also his childhood friend. She secretly loves subbu, but never reveals it.
Subbu’s elder brother, Chakri(Achyut) and his father runs a canteen in which malli(mallikarjun rao) is a cook. Chakri, representing govt. college, practices kickboxing to participate in the intercollege competition, but is defeated by rival, Rohit from Model college. Subbu’s gang and his govt. college mates are looked down cheaply by Model college’s Rohit and gang and are insulted often. Subbu plans to teach them a lesson and tries every trick to woo Lovely(Aditi), who is a new entry into model college.
Subbu pretends as the lone son of a multi-millionaire and wins over lovely’s heart by presenting her a diamond ring on valentines day. He borrows money from janaki for this. Lovely realizes subbu’s true identity through rohit and ditches him. Janaki’s father(chandramohan) blames subbu’s father for the money borrowed. His father gets sick of his misdeeds and kick him out of his house. Chakri tries to talk subbu out of his problems, and while returning home is attacked by rohit and his men. Chakri lies in hospital and is declared unfit to compete in kickboxing competition. Subbu realizes the truth behind chakri’s incident and decides to participate in kickboxing competition. But chakri’s guru refuses to train subbu, as he suspects subbu’s integrity. Subbu manages to convince his guru and learn kickboxing with all his energies concentrated. He wins over Rohit and also everyone’s heart again.
The basic story line remains the same as the original, but lot many scenes were modified and lot more comedy added into this movie.
Ramana Gogula’s music is too good and his voice suits pawan. With this movie, ramana starts the trend of one complete other language song in pawan’s movies. Pawan himself sings a short song and his timing in comic scenes is perfect. Especially the phone scene, in which he speaks with a female voice is simply hilarious. His martial arts skills are also shown in the end, while practicing and in last fight. Overall its an out-n-out pawan’s film.
